Moment of Peace

ALOHA FRIDAY
at Last!
Welcome, Friend

click on photos, you know why. . .
It's nice at Waikiki. . .

"Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)"
Walt Whitman

But the other day I went into the back of Manoa Valley. . .

"Some people never go crazy.
What truly horrible lives they must lead."
Charles Bukowski

It is a riot of greenery back there. . .

"The moment a little boy is concerned with which is a jay
and which is a sparrow,
he can no longer see the birds or hear them sing."
Eric Berne

I love communing with the leaf-life

"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted."
Aesop, The Lion and the Mouse

<>< <>< ><>

There I found this delightful fountain.
Let's relax and enjoy it together for a moment!

The land, the `Aina, is lonely.
It has been only a place to discard the unwanted,
to ignore, to comodify,
not a mother to visit in love.

The land asks:
"Where are the children?
When will they come and play and laugh with me again?"
The land is lonely for us.

Let us be children once again,
companions to the birds, leaves and winds.
Just as in the day of humankind's youth.
And our spirits shall again be young.

ALOHA, cloudia

Playing amongst the waterfalls and leaves in Hawaii is wonderful. I entirely hid behind one large ti leaf on the way to Hana one time. Beautiful green everything during the best time of year. DrumMajor

This is very beautiful, Cloudia. You're making me want to go out again and find a patch of green. It's raining right now and the cool air feels wonderful.

The I am large, I contain multitudes quote could apply to your blog. Good post.

The Bukowski quote made my morning. You are always the tonic I need, and do I ever need it this morning. Thanks, friend.

....I'm not generally a Bukowski fan, but I like that quote! I AM a Whitman fan, and I like THAT quote, too!

But my favorite thing about this post, beyond its appealing Cloudia-ness, is the fountain. Fountains are a special thing!

Aloha, Cloudia. Thank you for the fountain and the little bit of Ordinary Madness. And I agree with Dave. I sometimes feel as if Whitman is walking with us when I visit your blog.

Aloha Cloudia! It looks so beautiful that blue in Waikiki!! Much better than my 1996 lousy pictures of Hawaii. From 1998 it's even worse as by those times I was mostly on the video side...

There is a weird bridge waiting for you at Blogtrotter. Enjoy and have a great weekend!!

Beautifully said. Yesterday I guess that's what I was doing, communing with the leaf-life. Just five minutes walk from home. I can walk and climb for hours along the ancient stone terraces and awakening plants with not a human in sight. Only nature and history. the Land.
