Ku`u Lei Hoku

ALOHA, PAL :)

One thing about Hawaiian music is that, due to the language, it can be difficult to discover the name of a song.

I have loved this song for a long time, but have only just discovered it's name. The only version I could find to share is this one from YouTube:

Hope you enjoy it too.

"Insofar as the destructive effects of anger
and hateful thoughts are concerned,
one cannot get protection from wealth nor education.
The only factor that can give protection
from the destructive effects of anger and hatred
is the practice of tolerance and patience."

How I love that quote by the Dalai Lama, and the video was lovely.

Thanks also for stopping by and wishing me a happy birthday the other day. Aloha my friend.

The Dalai Lama is not a roller girl, and therefore is of no interest to me.

Am I starting to repeat myself?

Sometimes the practice of patience and tolerance leads to indolence in the face of assault. I am tolerant and patient but I have learned the necessary limit of it.

Beautiful sounding song. Glad you finally filled a life's quest by finding the name of it.

Beautiful kids and song!

The Dalai Lama is right on. It takes enormous courage to embrace this idea completely but it can change everything.

I love the Dalai Lama's quote. I'll have to come back for the video because I'm in the quiet zone of the school library without headphones. Have a great day, Cloudia!

Beautiful, Cloudia. And so true. All of this. The song is magic.

My great uncle developed a taste for Hawaiian music when he out that way during WWII. We'd sit and listen to it for hours.
