HST? What's that?
Hawaiian Standard Time.
We live 10 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time
(GMT-10)
This time of year,
when most of the continental USA is on
Daylight Saving Time,
we are 6 hours behind New York,
3 hours behind San Francisco
(PST-3)
By the time we begin our workday,
it is afternoon back east.
So much for beating the competition!
In Hawaii we tend to rise early,
and go to bed early;
but when visiting New York
our internal clock
makes us night owls!
Midnight?
Feels like noon to me!
This wrinkle in time
has taken much stress out of watching
"live" events since 9-11.
By the time I see it
we know there has been no terrorism.
Mondays during football season
a lot of Honolulu fans slip out of the office
to watch the Monday Night Game
in real-time (afternoon) at a sports bar.
On occasion, one of us gets a call
from a clueless person far away.
Because it is 10am where they are
they never realize that it is only
4am here!
Till we inform them,
and go back to sleep!

I have been one of those people! I caught myself calling someone in Maui at 8:00 my time - only to remember at the last minute it was 5:00 a.m. their time.
Hawaii is timeless! Love it here no matter what time it is. lol

I think we are on the same cosmic wavelength though, as I too spoke of being away of nature, or the world around us.
Love the Einstein quote. Time is a funny thing. I'm kinda obsessed by it and hate to be late. Other than that I'm a laid back person. Just hate to be late, that's all.
Einstein words are so true. I often think of a world without time.
Love hearing about Hawaii. You already know how much I love that place.

I get lost in time...it escapes me too often. Like now...sucked into the computer...for too much time. If I were where you are, I would find TIME to be on the beach!!

Time! Who does and who does not go through the DST nonsense is always fun. Not so many hours behidn for all that distance!
We've just finished daylight saving down her in OZ so everything is back to normal at least i hope it is, sometimes i wonder whether it really is :-).
The time differences are cetainly a challenge since my daughter lives in Illinois, my son in New Mexico and my sister-in-law in California. It's hard to keep it all straight.
The first image and quote are for me, I do this most days of my life.
