Expert Predictions!

A   L   O   H   A  !

That's ME!

“X-rays will prove to be a hoax.”

Lord Kelvin,
British physicist 1899

“Printed books
will never be the equivalent
of handwritten codices,
 especially since printed books
 are often deficient in spelling
 and appearance.”

Johannes Trithemius,
 German abbot and scholar
 “In Praise of Scribes”
 1492

" ENIAC is equipped with 18,000 vacuum tubes

 and weighs 30 tons,

computers in the future

may have only 1,000 vacuum tubes

and weigh only 1.5 tons.”

Popular Mechanics
 1949

What do the experts know?
My laptop
weighs in at only
One Ton
and uses only
Three Vacuum Tubes!

These days,
I seem to be learning
all the things
that I have been
wrong
about.

Once past the
embarrassment
it's actually been
liberating.

What have
Y O U
been wrong about?

Thanks for visiting today

                         Warmly, cloudia

It took me a moment to spot you in that top photo - I was so focused on that holy cloud. :)

I am not an expert but a cloud lover :)

The last thing I was wrong about was reading this post because now I will spend a significant portion of the day remembering (which is a good thing) all of the many things I was wrong about and wondering over where I may yet still not understand the impact of action.

It is good though to look inward, for memories sake, just not to live there.

What I can say? I've been wrong about several things even those concerning me. :) Happy weekend to you!

Time marches on and on....things change, as do people. Growing up creates a better perspective.

As a teacher, I have had students who were disasters!!!!! that have grown up to be such sweethearts. And often, what goes around comes around. Right now our granddaughter (soon to be 14) is putting her mother through the same things we were concerned about. Like turning your homework in on time so you don't get downgraded.
If only I knew then what I know now.

It's true, wisdom comes with age.

All these quotes are like famous last words haha! It's not so much what I was wrong about today as yesterday. Yesterday I thought I could eat cake, chocolate, icing (LOTS of icing from the wedding cake Aimee was making)and wake up this morning without a mega migraine headache, I couldn't have been more WRONG!!!

I never thought computers would make it into the home for the average person. I couldn't imagine why we'd need them. Thankfully others have far better imaginations than mine.

Love that Johannes Trithemius quote. He wasn't wrong and would he be upset to see what the internet has lead to when it comes to spelling.

I'm wrong more often than I'm right so when you ask that question, I'll have the time to answer it. ;-)

Drugi cytat wszystko mówi. Twoje chmurki są urocze. Pozdrawiam.*** The second quote everything he says. Your clouds are charming. Yours.

Wrong? Me? Never!

I like famous last words uttered just before the opposite is revealed as true.

Hmmmm...well, this is going to sound silly but I was wrong to doubt my husband, this morning. That's all I'm saying! (And I'm not admitting this to him - ha!)

Beautiful shots, Cloudia, as usual. It took enlarging the first photo before I could see you!

Add to the list: the tin can was invented 25 years before the can opener!

I am wrong about many, many things. I try not to commit the same wrong twice.
Have a great weekend.

I can't even begin to list the things I've been wrong about. I'll bet my kids remember them all though. I nearly missed seeing you too. Blame it on my poor eye sight.

Cloudia, are you having trouble commenting on Wordpress blogs? I'm having the worst time. They only let me comment through my Wordpress account which I don't want to do because that's my back-up. Sheesh!
