Your Free Hawaiian Vacation

A  L  O  H  A !
The holidays
are stressful.

You
deserve a vacation,
and I'm going
to give it
to you!

You are going to have
 a private view
of Hawaii's
warm,
tropical
paradise!

And while you enjoy your view
of palm trees moving
in languid Trade Winds
beside a blue ocean,
You
will listen
to a play-list
of Hawaiian Music
I have chosen
just for you!

I N S T R U C T I O N S :

1)  Go to and bookmark each of these sites:

Hawaii Music  Here

Hawaii View  Here.

2) To vacation ANYTIME :

A] Open the Music in one tab and set it playing.

B] Open the View in a new tab.

(You will see the view, the music should keep playing )

C] Watch the Hawaiian view, while you listen to Hawaiian music.  Try Full-Screen!

D] Soon, you will look forward to these little escapes, and actually believe on a certain level that you can sit by your Hawaiian window ANYTIME you want!

BONUS: If you live in New York City, and arrive home in the winter dark at 6pm, it will STILL be a sunny 1pm when you get here to Hawaii.

I'll look for you!

You Win

A   L   O   H   A  !

 " I've been thinking
about why you have to
 get famous
to get an award
 for helping
other people.

" If your name is
John Doe,
and you work night
 and day doing things
 for your helpless neighbors,
what you get for your effort
 is tired.

" So, Mr. and Mrs. Doe,
and all of you
 who give of yourselves,
 to those who carry
 too big a burden
 to make it
 on their own,

" I want you to reach out
and take your share of this.
Because if I have earned it,
so too have you.”

Frank Sinatra
Accepting the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award

Light Brain Circuit

A  L  O  H  A !

Ah, Neon!

Does something to us
doesn't it?

Dazzles us,
short circut to
the brain.

Feel that searing pulsating
RED!

Oh the brilliant stimulating
comfort
of   BLUE!

Color goes right to the brain.
We eat less
off of a blue plate.

Ever heard of
Food - Coloring?

Our brain is a magical place.
Electrical storms
of great beauty
range there,
like Northern Lights:

'Cerebrum Borealis'

Neural particles swarm
dutifully,

chemical messengers
acting
under electrical weather.

What you eat,
think,
imbibe,
influences that weather
which is your
emotional climate
in mysterious ways.

But fear not,
we know that
love, calm, faith,
xanax,
can safely harbor
the battered ship
of the ID.

We see what we focus on,
and paint it
in the colors
of our
Life Interpretation.

Things mean
what we believe
that they mean!

But if we are open,
perception
can shift
anytime!

This motorcycle
travels about
at speed.

But the paint job
invites
inner explorations
of it's depths,
and
our of own.

Has birdy chosen
to enjoy this brilliant
plastic reflector 'sun'
pulsing
with Waikiki
morning light?

Did he even notice it?

Too much sun,
especially glaring off of the
water,
can befuddle
eyes, and mind.

Best to rest
under dark blue.

Capture the sun
[see solar panels ?]
and have your fun
wandering
and wondering
before
your 'day'
is done.

Appointed Continents

Pink Cloud - Cobalt Cloud:  Morning

What do you do

the day

after

the holidays

?

Early birds at the Beach

Ships keep their appointed rounds,
charted on some desk far away,
to meet a shipment,
itself in movement
to that meeting,
plotted in a
different office
on a different
continent.

Hawaiians of old

sailed in double-hulled,

two-masted canoes

following the stars:

arriving
departing
founding kingdoms;

Bringing new ideas

and plants,

like bloggers

of the sea.

Steersman steer,
call the stroke;
ride along
you lazy bum!

" Day After?"
Wonders dear Birdy.
"Isn't TODAY All? "

" The creation
of the world
did not take place
once
and for all time,
but
takes place
every day. "

Samuel Beckett

Who am I
to disagree
particularly
during the
dying embers
of another
year. . .

Plain-Clothes Santa

A   L   O   H   A  !

" When we are humble

everyone is a potential best friend

and our generosity naturally grows.

We want to do things, to help out.

A wonderful Zen tradition

is called "inji-gyo,"

or secret good deeds. . .

- Secret good deeds.
 They are so much fun.
In their doing
you can't help but
smile. "

Geri Larkin
 "Tap Dancing in Zen"

As usual,
plain-clothes Santa
gave gift baskets
to indigents
on the Honolulu
streets,
and to the Mission.

Plain-clothes Santa
is a nice Jewish boy,
just like Jesus.

" Summer set
 lip
 to earth's bosom
 bare,

 And left the flushed
 print
in a poppy
there. "

 Francis Thompson
 "The Poppy," 1891
