Banishing Scary

A   L   O   H   A  !
" When I was a boy
and I would see scary things
 in the news,
my mother would say to me,
 'Look for the helpers.
You will always find
 people who are
 helping.' -

To this day,
 especially in times of
 "disaster,"
I remember
my mother's words
and I am always
comforted  -

by realizing that there are still
 so many helpers –
so many caring people
 in this world."
Fred Rogers

Clicking on Mr. Rogers' name above will take you to his site full of insight about helping children cope,
and aren't we ALL Mr. Rogers' children?

If you are reading this
there is a pretty good chance
that our world
has not ended
21 Dec 2012.

Of course,
someone's world
has indeed
ended today.

Let's you & me
live this day,
each day,
sharing how
very precious
 it is.

Cherish the little things.

And thank
Y  O  U
for being a
sweetness
in my life/day.

Yesterday was good because I know somewhere on the planet someone was living life as if it was their last day and they wanted to go out doing good for someone else.

If its even more comfort Cloudia, we're not far off the end of the day here in Oz and all is still well, tomorrow is going to be a beautiful day!

Fred Rogers was full of good advice, wisdom, beauty and love. Clearly he learned a lot of that from his mother.

Beautiful pics as always, Cloudia.

Aloha Cloudia, I will always adore Mr. Rogers. Your comforting words this morning will be the music dancing through my thoughts, all day long. I too, have met some of those helpers, and may happiness follow them everywhere they go! Karen

Lovely post, Cloudia. This is the end of a cycle and the harbinger of new beginnings... Here's to a kinder, gentler world in 2013.

I love that quote and miss having a presence like Mr. Rogers on TV. It was a happily non-apocalyptic day at the office here on the east coast:)

Ah, but Cloudia, YOU are the Hawaiian Helper! So, the mechanical street light nest is helping the "doves" bring peace to the city. "Look for the helpers" is good; being the helper takes some balance. An all-day sun is melting our blizzy. No doves at the birdfeeder, just some cardinals. DrumMajor

Well said, to be sure. In times of crisis, these people are all the more easily found. Thank goodness.

You definitely know how to make the most of each day, Cloudia.

By the way, every time Art gets upset when he's driving, I keep reminding him about your book.
