Algebra of Aging

A   L   O   H   A  !

It Was a Very Good Year by Frank Sinatra on Grooveshark

" The struggle of life
 is one of our greatest
blessings.
It makes
us patient, sensitive,
 and Godlike.
It teaches us
 that although
the world is full
of suffering,
 it is also full
 of the overcoming
of it. "

 Helen Keller

" Life's meaning
can't be known
 by customary
 thought patterns,
but by
experience. "

 Albert Einstein

" Dignity; the sunlight of aging. "

Persian proverb

 <(-'.'-)>

One's 50th year
is a milestone.

It takes a whole lot
of living,

one's rise
(descent?)
from childhood,

it takes
in fact
Half a Century.

One looks back
in wonder.

One thinks it:
"Half-way"
And prepares
for another
40 or 50
Summers.

Then age 60
beckons:
a brief 10 years!

Suddenly
geometry speaks
plainer.

No second rise,
but a plateau
clung to.

Though the Self,
the Soul,
the Person
yet rise,

the province of
the body,
dances the dance
of all
things.

Finally
-finality-
dances quite
away.

Good bye - good bye
all we took so light
(our due)
hello hello
we know not what,
hoping it to be
another go.

Thanks for visiting!
                          Warmly,
cloudia
