January 17, 1891

17 January 1891
The Legitimate Government
of these Hawaiian Islands
was overthrown.

The People Remember,

The `Aina, the Heavens,
the Sea,
and the Moku
all remember.

Hawaiian Sovereignty
Un-relinquished
in our hearts,
our hopes,
our young.

I adore how you honour the founders of your adopted land. We have had such a terrible past of invading and colonializing.
Cheers from Cottage Country!

A sad story that could have been better if the dudes in DC had a conscious. What year is that stamp?; statehood? I'm honored the Hawaiians allow visitors to their special state after we stole it! DrumMajor

Thank you for this, Cloudia. Some in our family are Native Hawaiian and anyone who feels a connection to the islands can't help but remember this sad chapter.
