Ducklings of Nostalgia

 DUCKLINGS!

" When Donald Duck
 traded his wings
 for arms,
was he trading up
 or trading down? "

Douglas Coupland

Here They Come

" Being born
 in a duck yard
 does not matter,
if only you are
 hatched
from a swan's egg. "

Hans Christian Andersen

One Duckling -

" A fellow with
the inventiveness of
 Albert Einstein
but with the attention span
of Daffy Duck. "

Tom Shales

Two Ducklings!

The Fearless Five
( I thought that the moment I saw them )

Bye Bye

" Four ducks on a pond,
 A grass-bank beyond,
A blue sky of spring,
White clouds on the wing;
What a little thing
To remember for years
To remember with tears! "

William Allingham

=^..^=

Chestnuts roasting
on an open fire?

The smell of
chalk
in a classroom?

What fills
YOU
with nostalgia?

I'm wondering where the Fearless Five's mama duck is located? Maybe they kick them out of the nest sooner in Hawaii than Kansas.
Nostalgia: Scent of plumeria blossoms dropped overnight from the trees in Hawaii; sound and freshness of the ocean waves.

Well the song, for starters (yes, I remember Guy Lombardo on New Years' Eve, and all that accompanied it). Too much nostalgia, must look forward to creating some for future in 2014. Wishing you a very happy healthy and creative New Year! (love the Fearless Five, too)

How very, very beautiful. Trading wings for arms was DEFINITELY a backwards step.
The smell of some books makes me nostalgic, and some of the dishes my mother made. (Others make me thankful to have moved on.)

Although I used chalk on a chalk board, I believe they're all being replaced with white boards now. Time marches on. Love your ducklings, Cloudia.
