Primary Election Meets Tropical Storm

A   L   O   H   A  !
 Am I
my shadow's
shadow?

 I'm just one person.
What can I do?

I put in a
long day at work.
But I ALWAYS Vote!

([])

Yesterday, Aug. 9th,
was Primary Election Day
here in Hawaii.

Our incumbent Governor
LOST (!)
to a State Senator.

Unheard of.

In the US Senate contest
NINE VOTES
separated both
Democratic choices
at one point last eve!
One of them
will be (remain)
Senator,
but WHICH?

Today, around only
ONE THOUSAND VOTES
stand between them.

To add to the interest
and unreality,
2 precincts on the Big Island
(Hawaii) have postponed
voting up to 20 days
while storm clean up and
power restoration occur
after TS Iselle.

THOSE VOTES
will decide the
contest!

Political types
are holding their breath
and probably
passing out!

YOUR VOTE MATTERS.
`Nuff Said!

I vote for
some play on the carpet
RIGHT NOW!

All Politics is LOCAL

yikes! sounds about like florida's hanging chad issues with the presidential election years back!

I can see that being a nuisance. With all these elections, including primaries, it's just way too complicated. We have an election called here, six or seven weeks later, it's done.

I rather agree with Pixie.

Nah, once those 2000 or so votes come in it should be decided, Tex.

Another sensible thing about Canadians!

Thanks you two-

I heard about your Governor losing his primary. I really hate when Democrats challenge safe incumbents in primaries.

Though you'll do have such a strong Democratic voting base that I hear there's a few people in the state house that are "democrats" but vote like Republicans.

One of our senators recently resigned due to a plagiarism scandal.

And of course, Pixie does not need an election to retain her status as queen of her very local universe! Are you sure she was VOTING to play on the floor or COMMANDING that you play on the floor with her?

I seem to remember that you worked very hard to elect that particular governor! Hope all ends well...

I'm one of only three Democrats in my state, so I always vote!

I hope the voting turns out well, that voters make good choices.

Glad to know it's not really over yet. Amazing whiskers on Pixie.

It's all pretty shocking about the voting. I feel so awful for the Puna, Pahoa people. I imagine voting right now is not the first thing on their minds. Why don't I see the Big Island mayor in the news there?
