Sunny Kapiolani Park

A  L  O  H  A !
June 11, 1877, Kapiolani Park was
dedicated as the first public park in Hawaii.
The park boasts of open green space,
ponds, the Honolulu Zoo, sports
facilities, and the Waikiki Shell.

Diamond Head presides
over the park.
The Hawaiians of old
named the crater:
"Leahi."  LINK

Popular for sports, picnics,
and family events,
 the park is also a
favorite place for photographs.

laugh at the odds,
and live our lives so well
that Death will
tremble to take us. "

" The moment one gives
close attention to
any thing, even a blade of grass
it becomes a mysterious,
awesome, indescribably
magnificent world
in itself. "

It's an incredibly beautiful park, and so close to Honolulu.

I can see why it would be a place to photograph couples!

The close-up shot of Diamond Head is even better than the money shot from the beach. Thanks for the outing, Cloudia. The quotes today were great, too. I like the one about living so well Death is afraid to take us!

Such a beautiful place. Such a vibrant place - such a peaceful place. Thank you.
And it is particularly welcome as our greens turn to golden on their way to crispy brown.

What a gorgeous place you live in, Cloudia. I could sit here and soak up all the beauty in your wonderful photos forever! I love places like that--parks that really share what a place is about and make it accessible for a variety of activities.

Wishing you a joy-filled week!
