Escape Spots

A  L  O  H  A !
Click on the canoes!
Paddlers escape in the unison
of their breathing, pulling.

"Happiness is
never stopping
 to think
if you are."

Some

lose themselves -

- in the sounds

& spaces

at the surf

Driving Alone is a Normal Retreat

" Language... has created the word
 "loneliness" to express
the pain of being alone.
And it has created the word
 "solitude"
to express the
glory of being alone. "
                                   Paul Tillich

Up On The Roof

" When I come home feelin' tired and beat
I go up where the air is fresh and sweet
I get away from the hustling crowds
And all that rat race noise down in the street
Up on the roof -

- On the roof's the only place I know
Where you just have to wish to make it so "
                            song by CAROLE KING

Solitude and loneliness differences are within the individual's perceptions. Being in an extended meeting can be acutely lonely at times.

Your photographs are excellent Cloudia.

Those were breath-taking photographs that illustrate being alone so well. Time to go up on the roof!

Solitude is so welcome at times, yet loneliness is just hard.. Such a fine line!

Ahhh...Tillich was spot on, as are your photos, bits of sunny peace in a grey world. Thank you.

I love solitude, perhaps a bit too much.

My problem may be that I stop to think too much. When I'm busy I never wonder about being happy really. I just have to get the work done

No, not my kitty on the rocks.

The outrigger canoes are a Polynesian tradition. The great voyaging canoes Hokulea has a sail, and is on a worldwide journey! ♥
