Clang the Symbols

A  L  O  H  A   from   Honolulu!
" A woman has
the age
she deserves. "
                              Coco Chanel

" Life is far
too important
a thing ever
to talk
seriously about."
                            Oscar Wilde

" Love is
a sacred reserve
of energy; it
is like the
blood of spiritual
evolution."
 Teilhard de Chardin

Linking to
Our World Tuesday

Symbols were
to me
mental constructs;
Conveying Ideas.

Now I know
that they don't
merely 'represent.'

Symbols embody
layers & layers
of usefulness
in ADDITION to
any simple
 translation
into words
of their 'meaning.'

Images such as
Maternal Care,
the Dancing Girl,
the Spiral,
Sunset,
Wisdom of  Age,
all communicate
with us via
deep threads
in the fabric of
our Humanity.

Elders said
there are 7 levels
of meaning
to every scripture.

Only seven?

Have you heard
a favorite old song
for the zillionth time
and heard a new
lyric?
Realized a new
and meaningful aspect?

Life's mysteries
reveal themselves
every day,
every moment.

Sometimes,
we even notice them!

Here's to US-
The Noticers!

Fondly, cloudia

The quotes, as usual, are cool Cloudia but your writing of symbos, especially them passed through a thousand generations is much more insightful.

Hi Cloudia, most important is to see the sweet smile on the face of these lovely women. That is a very beautiful seaside picture.

You provided a profound description of symbols and why they are important.

Symbols are the basis for human culture. They are how we make sense of the world. I didn't see any clashing symbols in this post; it was beautifully done!

It's funny how now that I blog, I notice things more often since I'm looking for things to blog about.

You and Coco Chanel are telling me that I deserve to be 110, with the mind (and the eyes) of a child? Probably true.

Love that Covo Chanrl's quote.
I mostly choose to like a song by its lyrics more than the melody.

I love the mom doing the child's hair! My daughter does that all the time for the kids! I don't remember my mother doing mine!

Thanks for the great wisdom again! I never understood why some people get so hung up on age! Thank you for stopping by. Happy Easter!

Hello,

7 basic levels to understanding, I have heard this concept before, but I wonder how many layers are there really?
