Eclipse Trophies

A  L  O  H  A !
". . . and the Sun has perished
out of heaven, and an
evil mist hovers over all."
             Homer, The Odyssey

San Francisco's North Bay
was cloudy. But then skies
cleared enough to see the
end of the eclipse
in our Sky Mirror.

Ok. It's a basin of water.
But it worked!

The sun regulates and effects us
on so many biological levels.

We all know how it creates electricity,
and grows all our food. Well I felt a
disquiet as the already grey day darkened.

Birds did not sing, or use the feeders.

When the sun returned, especially the
customary afternoon Summer sun and
blue skies around the Bay, I felt / feel
renewed and happy!

Glad too, that Americans
could agree on the value of
SOMETHING, even for one day.

Let it be a good sign
as the Wisdom of the Crowd
appraises the real condition
of our national affairs.

"But you can't fool all the
people ALL the time."
US. President, Abraham Lincoln

The bucket of water was a brainwave.
And hooray for a day of agreement.

Hello, wonderful captures of the eclipse views. We had cloudy skies here and saw nothing.
Maybe we will see the one in 2024. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!

I didn't think of a basin of water. Here we saw a partial eclipse- I stepped out at peak time and noticed the odd tone to the blue sky.

What an awesome idea! Nobody mentioned a basin of water to see the eclipse happening. Will have to try it in 7 years.

Interesting bucket trick. I can't wait for 2024.... yes I can. Not going to wish my life away.

The pail of water worked so well for you! We saw just 75% of the eclipse here so it didn't get dark but the light changed and the blue sky changed in tone.

God has to block out the sun to get us all to hush...

Genius idea with the water in the bucket! We were out under a deary, somewhat cloudy sky on Lake Superior and it was like nothing happened!

I'm so glad I stopped by today to see the eclipse in the basin of water. That's what I wanted to do because the Mama told me that's how she saw an eclipse a long time ago. The Husband didn't think it was a good idea. I didn't have a chance to try because we were under thick fog cover. Great photos, Cloudia! Thanks for sharing them.
