Yes, that's Morgan Freeman
being kind to a complete stranger
in Honolulu's Chinatown at midnight. Long story. . .

"Happiness comes from the capacity to feel deeply, to enjoy simply, to think freely, to risk life, to be needed." Storm Jameson |
"Enjoy the little things for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." | |

To a kid
20 years is an unimaginably
long time.
The older we get
the more comprehensible
it becomes.
At 50
we can believe
in 70.
Approaching 60
we begin to believe
in our own
mortality.
So what to think?
What to do?
The other evening
I attended a party
with old friends and colleagues.
Talk was convivial
as it is among friends
turning to wine,
to travel,
to enjoying life.
"After all, how long have I got."
said one
to a murmur of assent
by all.
You may be wondering
why I'm writing on this topic
during the holidays.
It might seem depressing
But my intent
is exactly the opposite,
echoing my friend at the party.
I want to cherish
my hours, my days
and I want the same
for you.
Let's liberate ourselves
from what are really
petty annoyances.
Don't sweat the small stuff,
and it's ALL small stuff
compared to the treasure
we possess.

Well said but fear is a reality.
You have a very nice and vibrant blog.
ReplyDeleteIt must have been nice to meet Morgan Freeman. He is such a amazing personality.
And finally the picture quality is beyond comparison. I guess air is very clean and the quality of light is also compliments the photography skills.
Wow, how sweet of that hot babe to take a moment with Morgan freeman. It must have been his lucky day! ;-)
ReplyDeletebtw, it's the Simpson's 20th tv anniversary today.
ReplyDeleteright..cherish every single day that we have..

ReplyDeleteAnais Nin:
People living deeply have no fear of death.
ps.
when dead, life is over. Nothing to be afraid of.
My intent is to outlive every person on the planet so everyone just keep having kids. A long life lived well is the goal, even if the time of that life is measured in mere decades.
ReplyDeleteLovely sentiment and so true. And Morgan Freeman lucked out! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a good thing to come on your blog because over here it is snow.
ReplyDeleteI am very glad to see Morgan Freeman. My favorit black actor is Denzel Washington.

ReplyDeleteYes, that's me: Duck d'Luck!
I love seeing all your photos and reading your uplifting quotes and words.
ReplyDeleteAloha back at ya!
I need to revisit these ideas as I recover from a broken heart. As always, I needed this post. Thanks, friend.
ReplyDeleteIt's such a revelation, when you realize that you've "more than likely" spent more time here on Earth, than what you've got left. It came to me when it dawned on me that my grandmother had lived to be 96, but I was already 49! Now I'm 53, oh boy.
ReplyDeleteAnd every day is a new opportunity to let go of the 'small stuff' in favor of l.i.f.e.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that reminder, you celebrity, you!
You are beautiful!
