Today is life -
the only life you are sure of.
Make the most of today.
Get interested in something.
Shake yourself awake.
Develop a hobby. Let the
winds of enthusiasm
sweep through you.
Live today with gusto.

for every new illusion;
in maturer years,
for every one we lose.

Happy is the person
who can keep
a quiet heart in
the chaos and tumult
of this modern world.

  7. I love Hawaiian language...is it still spoken and taught? I somehow think I saw a school somewhere (maybe Facebook years ago) where Hawaiian was being taught. I like the idea of a US state with a second (original) language!

    1. The Hawaiian language is the second official language of Hawaii. It has in recent years experienced a resurgence including Hawaiian language, immersion schools. There are more native speakers than there have been in a really long time. The kids who attend the schools or have graduated from them are amazing. Yes, we are lucky to have a rich host culture in these islands. Thanks for your visit and comment. I always enjoy your posts! Aloha Barbara

  9. Thanks for the phonetic spelling of the street name. When I was in Hawaii the long words tripped me up every time.
