    I need a little hope this morning. It's 4:23, and recurring knee pain has drive me from bed, and I've already consumed coffee. I think I'll have another. By the way, we had snow overnight -- not a lot but still, my 'hope' for nicer weather is being thwarted. So here we are. What shall the day bring?

    That Kerouac quote hit me hard. It really means something to me now that I'm a lot older. Wished I'd not tried so hard to prove myself when I was younger. I didn't need to.
