Quietly Shining

  A L O H A  From

H O N O L U L U

Hope will never
be silent.
   Harvey Milk

The wise
do not grow old.
They Ripen.
  Victor Hugo

Today's a new day.
It's your day.
You shape it.
Don't
let it be shaped by
someone else's
ignorance or fear.
Steve Maraboli

Nothing in this world
compares to the
comfort and security
of having someone
 just hold your hand.
Richelle E. Goodrich

Do not lean so hard
On what is missing
 That you forget
The sunlight on your hand.

The day is not just heavy thoughts
It is also coffee and, a stray laugh overheard.
The small green courage
Of a growing leaf by the sidewalk.

Don't stare so long
At closed doors
That you miss how the window
Is quietly shining.

A  bird heckles the morning,
 Someone holds the door,
The ocean remembers my name in foam.
Life keeps slipping you gifts—
The crust of warm bread,
A text that simply says “I'm here.”
Most of it,
If  you look again,
 Is really good stuff:
 Ordinary miracles in plain clothes.

 They wait politely
At the edge of your attention,
Hoping you will finally look up and say,
 “Oh—there you are!
Come in."

I saw the chaplain pull in
on this bike in full battle dress (camouflage) uniform.

  1. Pixie looks like she wants you to take her paddle boarding, too. Or maybe she just wants to play with the kitty upstairs.

    1. You should see the zest and excitement that surfing dogs show when its time to jump on the board! I would say that this dog is holding a pretty smart/standard posture surfing dogs use. Thanks for your animal heart!!
