    We worry about the future of human minds as there is less and less reason for humans to think with computers doing everything and the news media telling you how to live, how to cook, how to dress for the weather. It is sad really.

    Pixie’s photo is absolutely adorable. I love those moments when cats tuck their paws over their eyes and look a little drowsy — it’s an expression that melts my heart every time.
    Your quote selection is once again beautiful and full of quiet wisdom. And I want to thank you for the touching words you left on my blog. I can only imagine how deeply moving it must be to experience both heartbreak and warmth as you walk beside your husband on this final journey. I’ve heard many times that dementia can sometimes change a person’s nature, and it comforts me so much to know that this isn’t the case with him — that he still radiates the same kindness and gentleness you’ve always known, and that his caregivers recognize and cherish it as well.
    Although your situation is unique and profoundly intimate, I relate in a small way: the last months of my mother’s life were both a gift and a sorrow for me. These transitions open places in the heart that are tender, painful, and precious all at once.

    A daily wash of one's face after eating is part of cat lore...so to those who think she's tucking that paw, I offer the usual cleaning activities as another option to consider. Cloudia and Pixie know what really happened! It's sooo cute, no matter how!
