Ability To Deal

Breathe deep
Let silence bloom,
A smile within
Evaporates gloom.

So smile inwardly
Let it grow,
A river of light
In joy’s sweet flow.

Bird of Paradise, Strelitzia reginae,
 Honoring Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz

Charlotte was an amateur botanist who took a great interest in Kew Gardens. In an age of discovery, when such travelers and explorers as Captain James Cook and Sir Joseph Banks were constantly bringing home new species and varieties of plants, she ensured that the collections were greatly enriched and expanded.[41] Her interest in botany led to the South African flower, the bird of paradise,
being named Strelitzia reginae in her honour.

Charlotte has also been credited with introducing
the Christmas tree to Britain and its colonies.

Happiness is not the absence of problems,
it’s the ability to
deal with them. Steve Maraboli

Hold your loved ones close,
In the warmth of laughter, And the stillness of the night, Weave your hearts together. Breathe in the moments, Mundane becomes profound, Especially in the simple, Extraordinary is found. Sharing a cup A walk beneath the trees, These are our treasures, Life is made of these Embrace the sorrow and joy Every tear and cheer, Remind us of our journey, It's the love that we hold dear. The beauty of existence, In every little thing, Together, we are building All that life can bring. Cloudia Charters

  1. Pixie is taking her own advice and smiling inwardly. Love your poem, too, Cloudia. I want one of the lemon/passion fruit drinks, but I can't get one here. I think Epicurus would be disappointed with me... ;)

  6. Oh birds of paradise and warm looking skies are very tempting this morning. Although it does feel like March here in New Hampshire so that's not bad since we are moving to nice weather. Still, those photos are great to see. Happy T day. And give Pixie a pat for me.

  7. I think all of Pixie’s smile must be inward, very inward. It’s a cat thing.
