Evening Magic

Honolulu

This man walks the beach
where footprints arrive and leave carrying nothing
but the sun
on his shoulders.

A child’s shout
lifts and disappears
on the wind. The palms lean casually, as if they’ve agreed to let the day pass
through them.
Diamond Head poses
for it's close-up.

Evening comes in
full of possibility. City lights wink on one by one,
small promises welcoming the dark.
Air thrums with Maybe, with Almost, with Go!
Footsteps quicken, windows glow.
Pixie

My soul was like a summer evening, after a heavy fall of rain, when the drops are yet glistening on the trees in the last rays of the down-going sun... George MacDonald

  1. After reading Pixie's poem, I thought she was going to go out onto her walkway in the night and start caterwauling at the stars. Little did I know that her possibilities lie in sleeping in new positions and dreaming impossible dreams...

  5. Lovely poetry and photos...ooo to the music as well as flowers, and a new cat friend of Pixie's. Dancing with music seems like the flow of waters moving against the beach.
