A L O H A

From
Honolulu
May I craft my life
As a Heavenly Island,
In the archipelago
Of kindly souls.
Where gentle waves
Of compassion lap
At the sandy shores
of love.
Sometimes
Big waves thunder
An earthquake
Under my feet.
But breezes
whisper wisdom
And the air
Is fresh and sweet
15 Cents was before my time
but the orange juice,
and the breakfast
were a real treat
after a night of work in
my father's janitorial business.

Sweet long poem. 👍

ReplyDeleteThe lady has walked a few miles, enough for the sun to lighten her hair. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteThanks dear friends! I so love reading your comments and it is gratifying indeed that you are enjoying the poetry. I'm still visiting my husband everyday and care as he declines physically and with his dementia. It's overwhelming and I so appreciate the world we have created where we gather like this and share. Just wanted to let you know why I'm not able to visit as often as I'd like, but I appreciate you more than you know. Aloha to each and every one of you
