with the arbitrary,
the accidental,
the insignificant,

that has intention,
design,
and significance. "

We construct our art,
our home,
our life,
from stuff we find
day to day.

That thing you notice
becomes a diadem;
Memory the jeweler
fastens diamonds
on your hem.

Thank YOU
for voyaging here,

Slightly Better Feeling

A L O H A !

" An animal's eyes
 have the power
to speak
 a great language. "

 Martin Buber

When we are unhappy
we start to analyze-

We wonder where we went wrong,

How we can make it all

Better -

And yet
All we really
need to do

- Is to look for
a SLIGHTLY better
feeling.

Maybe it's NOT
as bad as it looks,

Tomorrow will be
better.

The Magic of the
Slightly Better Feeling
can really help you out.

When I'm  musing
on something unpleasant,
I simply stop,
take a breath,
and think of
YOU Friends
who visit here.

- ALWAYS
makes it all seem
WORTHWHILE!

Thanks for That-

Thank You!

Autobiography

by  Cloudia W. Charters

Bulldog to butterfly, Raised by rage
found my refuge on the page
H.G. Wells, Kipling and Poe
Sandburg showed me where to go.

Cultural deluge spins all boats
upsets familiar landscape, but I kept afloat
true believer to the dregs
everyone else somehow got rich
but I was just stretching my legs.

Start over?  Why not!
a rolling stone will not rot
Rooted to locale?
well me, I’m not.

But torrents taunt boulders
we’re all growing older

Tis been a thrilling ride
if much of it pure slide

to rest on a shore
never seen before

rooted at last
have twenty years
really passed!?

Half submerged sentinel by the shore
rocked but by tides, who could want more?

YOUR Visit
is appreciated!

In Heaven
God is the government

"Dancing on the Moon" - Fleischer Cartoon Classic 1935

A L O H A !

Ah, a lazy Island Saturday !

 Once around Diamond Head
 - that's Diamond Head Light,
 home (the attached house)
to the Grand Poohbah
 of the US Coast Guard
 District

 Look -
I caught a bird in flight!
(see how the feet
are extended to land?)

Well, We've
"Played Outside"
Now let's
REALLY
be kids again!

 <>[}:{]<>

 When we were young
Saturday morning
was the time
to watch CARTOONS
on the little black & white
TV.

Before Sponge Bob,
or Angry Birds,
a whole other
wondrous world
was created
by a man
you probably never
heard of:

" Max Fleischer
(July 19, 1883 – September 11, 1972)
 was an American animator.
He was a pioneer in the development
 of the animated cartoon
and served as the head of Fleischer Studios.
He brought such animated characters as
and Superman to the movie screen
and was responsible for
a number of technological innovations. "

 =^.^=

If you remember Betty Boop
and her pal Bimbo,
if you remember
dancing, singing flowers,
and a clothed animal audience
watching a live show,
you ALREADY have
the Fleischer bug!

Are there things
 from your own
childhood
that you think about
from time to time?

Is there an old song
that starts playing
 in your head,
as it has for
decades?

Well here's mine -
BIG TIME!

Thanks to You Tube
nothing is really lost.

So shall we dance?

On the moon?!

I think you'll be glad
if you watch this
technologically
AMAZING
animation from the
1930s
