Dr. Kitty

Aloha!
Welcome to Waikiki-
South Shore surf is UP; skies are sunny; the people are warm! Clark Little's Artistry (c)

"My life has been incredible. I don't believe a word of it!"
Madame DuBarry

Hello, Pleased to Meet You

"When we are violent to our enemies, we do violence to ourselves. When we brutalize others, we brutalize ourselves. And eventually we run the risk of becoming our opressors."

Arundhati Roy

Yellow Fellow Cruising
"Don't do nothing because you can't do everything. Do something. Anything."
Colleen Patrick-Goudreau

Next time you are feeling anxious about life in this so-called "dog eat dog" world of ours stop and think about actual dogs you have known.
They're not eating each other, usually.
Think of the thrill of recognition that the "kid-you" felt
when you looked into the eyes of your pet.
You likely felt loved,
your dog followed you every where.

And though there are those who believe in fear-leadership
dogs lay down their lives,
or return from thousands of miles away,
for love.

Yes, an elemental love looks back at you
through the eyes of nature.

In this world
we are at home
and among family.

Dogs often take the role of protector,
a caring friend by the sick bed.

They try to assist
and research shows positive health affects
just from seeing
or touching
them.

Cancer dogs can diagnose through smell,
helper dogs provide assistance
for activities of daily life.

And when I feel pain
Miss Kitty comes near in concern.
When she brushes my ankles
or settles nearby
my pain is lessened
my spirit leaps.
So thank you to our under-rated
companions
who heal, love, and teach
us.
A L O H A! Cloudia

  2. The bond between me and my dog in New York was so great that I cried for months when I had to leave her behind in 1975. To this day I wonder what happened to her.

  9. Great everything. My dog was cracking me up today. I was hitting a ball with my tennis racquet for him to chase (maybe I was cracking him up)which he loves. But even though he's a sporting breed,he runs in circles trying to get back to the ball that he found. Oh my.

  11. Hello Cloudia,

I couldn't agree with you more.

That is why I always bring my pets, the Heroine and the humble scribe with me, wherever I go.

Oh, and, interestingly enough, here is a short poem by Richard the Resident Djinn which just came out today and is, I think, possibly on point... A Pair-a-dogs

    Ciao Bella,
    Pommes

PS, Miss Kitty, How much did you bribe her to write this, or is she really this nice all the time. One of the grumblers stepped on my tail at 3am this morning, acted all apologetic and everything, with sleep dropping from the eyes, but had the gall to comment that maybe I shouldn't step under feet in the middle of night. I just don't seem to have the felicity that you have, Miss Kitty.

    Bisous,
    Pommes

  14. I had a Standard Poodle who used to approach strangers at times whenever they needed a lift. He would sit politely beside them and lay his head on their lap, encouraging them to pet him. He wouldn't continue his walk until he felt satisfied the person's spirit had picked up enough for him to leave.
