This land is animate
yours is too.
Great, TOO great
and small
exceedingly small,
the power's the same:
everpresent.
An abundance of presents.
(for you
and for me.)
So Dance
in gratitude;
Dance
and BE
your
land.

They are a lot of smal lizzards on walls of house. The last summer we had a big green one in the garden.
ReplyDeleteWhen we go to Marti nique iskland sometimes one of these fellows came into our lodge.
Aloha, Cloudia !
Okay -- I thought it was a gecko...what is the dude with the puffy red throat? Are there as many of these red-throated lizards as there are geckos In Hawaii? Is it scared of us, or does he come charging and bite? DrumMajor
ReplyDeleteIs that Puff the magic dragon puffing??
ReplyDelete"BE your land"--I love that!!
Your first quotation and photo are just like Father Adam's at his nice blog, http://monasterydailyphoto.blogspot.com/
You would appreciate it, Sistah.
I love those little lizards. You have captured little Puff well :)
ReplyDeleteWe dance in Detroit...it is very much like being in an old black and white western where the guy in the black hat says"Dance!" and then begins shooting at our feet.
ReplyDeleteI never dance because he never says "Hula!"
I love your friend, Cloudia. Thanks for such a cheery post to give me a dancing start to my day!!
ReplyDeleteWhen we were kids we'd catch salamanders, newts, during the summer and watch them change color and puff out their necks .. thanks for the memories .. Aloha! xo
ReplyDeleteThat was very nicely captured.. the close up of the puffed throat kind of makes me a little scared of your friend though!
ReplyDeleteLovely. Thanks for the introduction.
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of these little geckos around us as well. I love when they do the throat expansion thing. It looks like a slice of orange or tangerine.
ReplyDeleteNo less a dragon for his size, and that's a very impressive 'ascot'!
ReplyDeleteAloha, Claude!! Tres Bien!
ReplyDeleteDrum Major: Steady! Just a friendly little gecko to eat the bugs in your room and bring good luck!
Dina: Huffing AND puffing ;-)
You are being your land, eh? Thanks for the tip!
Denise: Thanks! Yes, he's "little puff" now ;-)
Walking Man: LOVE that comment!!
Teresa: You're welcome! Now: 1, 2, cha cha cha!!
Dave (the) King: ALWAYS such a gentleman ;-)
Dayl: Thank YOU for reminding me of those east coast newts of my childhood!!
don't be scared, dear Phoenix! You are always safe here.
Charles: Yes ;-)
Deborah: Well said!!
Thanks, friends!!
I got a few shots of a bitty lizard the other day and none of them were half as good as yours. Great shots. Your first photo is amazing. Inspiring words, but then I've come to expect no less of you. Aloha Cloudia.
ReplyDeleteI am here my love.
ReplyDeleteWow..I've been wanting to catch one of those bugahs when he puffed up with the red - but only managed to just when full.. right on.
