Have you noticed?
Our culture doesn't respect those
who make others feel comfortable.
Doing so is considered the job of servants & underlings.
But Jesus, Buddha, and your grandma
drew hearts close with the charisma of love.
"Who would be great, must be servant of all."
Would you rather be feared. . . or loved?

In south of france in an area called the Camargue. they are pink flamingoes.
ReplyDeleteOver here Autumn is the beginning of winter.
Love the photos and quotes. I want be a nut who holds her ground!
ReplyDeleteLoved is better. There is such strength in that.
It's amazing, working with kids, to see how many people fear them and try to instill fear instead. That's no way to live.
When love is lost, fear enters.
ReplyDelete....Leonard Cohen! I was just listening to "Ten New Songs" last night.
ReplyDeleteI have heard that flamingoes are some stinky birds, and that the "water" they stand in would curl your toes. Oh well, a girl can't be stunning and a good housekeeper too! ;-)
Loved, of course. Although I realize the 'power' that comes with being feared, working in a school!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Thanks for winging me into Hawaii today!
Your photos are wonderful to see, for me. I thank you too for seeing my new blog.
ReplyDeleteThis is very touching and questioning! The obvious choice would be to be loved by all. How can I serve you ma'am?

Personally I would rather be loved with respect than feared or simply loved.
ReplyDeleteSome days I would opt for fear .. I am a project coordinator
ReplyDeleteSome good quotes there - especially the first one, I thought.
ReplyDeleteof course love..
ReplyDeleteGreat pics, as always! You've got an award waiting for you on my blog!!! Aloha, cher!
ReplyDeleteI want to be loved! and to serve!
ReplyDeleteI love the quote about the nut that held its ground.
Thanks for a great start to my day.
I had a boss once, he managed by tyranny. Everyone feared him. He dropped dead of a heart attack at 41 years old and his wife told me that only a sprinkling of obliged family members attended. Even his son from a previous marriage didn't show.
ReplyDeleteLove is what counts. Love rules.
I adore what Fireblossom said about the pink flamingos!
Loved. Like you love all of us. Like we love you.
ReplyDeleteAloha!
Loved. And I like to spread it around! Love those pink flamingos!

ReplyDeleteLove rules.
ReplyDeleteIt was only in the late 90s when I lived at Heifer Ranch that I first heard (from the good Christians) the term "servant heart" and "servant leadership."
BTW dear Cloudia, your words always carry me away so much I forget to comment what beautiful photos you offer as well.
