Today's song is upbeat! I find it very compelling:

"Beautiful young people are accidents of nature,
but beautiful old people are works of art."

Walking along the beach yesterday,
I was thinking that it often takes "common sense"
a while to catch up to the facts.
Some old folks were afraid to have electricity,
or telephones, in their homes.
Common sense once proclaimed:
"Man was not meant to fly"
But we know that men
and women
DO fly every day,
though many of us still feel that primal fear
of losing the ground beneath our feet.
Mystics have long taught us
that our thoughts have power,
effecting ourselves, others,
and our circumstances
small and large.
Common sense rebels at this,
but yesterday I saw a report on the news
in which the reporter was driving a small car
with only her thoughts!
Brain waves can be measured.
When an angry or agitated person enters the room
we feel it - whatever our logic dictates.
I like to think that there is a benevolent effect
from the love I feel for those who walk beside me.
Today I found the passage below in a book.
Coincidence?
"In many ways
the spiritual challenge of 'waiting'
and becoming a different quality of person
makes more of a contribution to this world
than financing a new hospital. . .
We are unaccustomed to giving value to what we
cannot see,
and we cannot see the power emitted
from a healthy psyche."

What do YOU think?
Can you feel it?

ReplyDeleteI'm feelin da happy Spiral vibes, Cloudia! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised that Eleanor R. would say that. I don't know whether you know, but she came from a family in which the women were known for their beauty. She, of course, was not. But when I visited the FDR estate in Hyde Park NY, I saw a wedding picture, and Eleanor looked pretty groovy as a young bride. Of course, she went on to be a great woman, and FDR's social conscience, in many ways.
That is a fascinating thought!
ReplyDeleteWow! I love that first photo! Very beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that Rihanna song too : )
Beautiful pics and music and lovely thoughts, too! Happy weekend! Aloha!
ReplyDeleteYou beautiful people!

Let me know tomorrow if you post to participate in my challenge. Everyone else is welcome too. For each person who posts about simple blessings and links up with my blog, my family will donate $2 to Heartline Ministries medical clinic in Haiti. Aloha from rainy California, from Chris at Enchanted Oak.
