"Some people never go crazy.
What truly horrible lives
they must live."
is self doubt."
teach us
who we are."
Salman Rushdie

Two gentlemen
were looking at masterpiece paintings
in a famous museum.
One criticized every picture.
He judged them quickly.
"That one's OK. That sucks.
Next!"
Finally, the guard,
who took the job to be around great art,
couldn't take it anymore.
"Sir,
these paintings are understood to be great
by those of education or native wisdom,
and have been for centuries.
THEY are not on trial here; YOU are."
The "Gentlemen" decided to go to a movie instead.
Let us be quicker to enjoy what's right
and less trigger-happy
to criticize.
ALOHA, cloudia
Happy Weekend...

Happy Easter m'dear. x
ReplyDeleteBut I don't care for Pollock. I suppose I am found guilty even though I have hung his work many times.
ReplyDeleteBetter to be crazy than hazy.
ReplyDeletethe worst enemy of creativity is mental exhaustion.
ReplyDeleteAnother good one!!!
ReplyDeleteI love Sylvia Plath's quote. So appropriate.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter.
That's wise advice indeed. I used to cringe whenever I went to the museum for precisely the same reason. Listening to the supposed "experts" critique the works as if they were the ultimate arbiters of artistic integrity...made my stomach queasy.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lesson I try to teach our kids, as nothing is more disturbing than watching people "turn" in this way.
Hope you're having a lovely Shabbat!
how fresh to look,
ReplyDeleteyou rock!

ReplyDeletean award for you,
promising poet award...
Sticking flowers where they belong is good thing.
ReplyDeleteAloha Friend
Respect for this guard. Love the Bukowski quote very much. Please have you all a blessed Easter Sunday.
ReplyDeletenever criticize in public.
ReplyDeleteHello my friend, happy Sunday!
ReplyDelete"Tell your friend,
I say who you are.."
It's a Tukish saying..
Best wishes..
I like the guard's approach. The museum isn't a test either way. It requires an openness to expression. All communications are valid.
ReplyDeleteGreat advice. Happy Easter, Coudia!
ReplyDeleteSo great to see YOU today!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the award, really. :)
Love how you worded the Easter news.
ReplyDeleteEnjoying the video too.
I must be having a great life - I go crazy all the time.
