Happy to See YOU :)

as long as you look at it in an ordinary human way.
But if you hold it up against the light of God's goodness,
it shines and turns transparent, radiant and bright.

Is this really my own life I see before me?"

Well, the Chief Executive has finally gone back to work; and so has President Obama.
My (blog invisible) husband surprised me with an extra day of his company on Tuesday
and so today is really and truly the first chance I've had this year to sit quietly alone
and begin anew. . .
. . . Every culture has a time when routines are up-ended. We humans seem to need periodic
disruption as much as we do the routines and habits that make a life out of chaos.
The world is made fresh somehow in these single digit days of baby New Year.
Finally the visitors (and husbands!) have been put out on the curb
with the Christmas tree.
All the saving little routines, re-sets, and re-calibrations of our individual lives
come back out of hiding
like timid woodland creatures.
I miss the Presidential family being around,
hearing where they ate
or swam.
And yes, I miss Husby too.
This year I pledge to myself
to stop interpreting everything
and to begin EXPERIENCING,
begin simply Living it.
Sorry for this bumpy ride. . .
I'm out of bloggy practice!
But THIS routine,
quietly sitting with you
sharing our lives-
Here's to US!
You & Me!
Together we share our flimsiest fantasies
and our deepest truths. . .
Strangers, sisters,
brothers,
dear hearts. . .
Missed Ya!
As the world tries on a new year,
still in the short pants
of single digits,
learning to walk,
to sing-
Something wonderful is happening to us all.
Do You Feel it?
Birth pangs are messy
but what bright day
is dawning?
How goes it with YOU?
Tell us in comments :)
fondly, cloudia

ReplyDeleteto stop interpreting everything

what you say is true...we need those disruptions to help us stop and look at our habits...maybe some of the things that have become comfortable are really just worn out and it is time for something new...and then there are the ones that truly support us...stopping allows us to feel and discern...and we don't have to analyze too much to just know what is and isn't working if we are really present, watching, listening.
Glad to Meet Ya LauraX :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I have a plan. Everyone else's seems so lofty. I just want to stop bitching. Find a passion.

Live life to the fullest , but I already do.
ReplyDeleteI missed you too. Love the quotes and your perspective on a new year. I have lots of plans. Hope they materialize but I'll focus on the journey and enjoy the trip.
ReplyDeletefeels as if the 'worlds puls' runs through your fingertips. and yes, today i thought, that i'll change. how interesting of you knowing it in advance. please have you all a good thursday.
ReplyDeleteAloha Cloudia,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful experience from you !
Thanks
Best Regards and have a good day,
Wong
I hope for a plan, dear Cloudia, and for a purpose. My daughter phoned today with a question about granddaughter's fever and cold. I felt useful.
ReplyDeleteI'd love a job, but have to realize that my family and my volunteer work is serving a purpose.
Many blessings to you and yours.
Aloha
This was one of the messiest and most disrupted Christmas seasons I've ever had and also one of the happiest. I love that cat. What a beauty.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was nice to have our President near. I don't know if Bush ever even visited Hawaii.
Single Digits - I like this! I love the newness of January, and the feeling of excitement in the air, as if the trees themselves are waiting ...
ReplyDeleteRoutine is a welcome thing after a stretch of much-needed disruption. I think it's all good, somehow. To have a routine to return to--that is wealth in the baby days of the new year, to be sure.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
nice post. I have an inspired plan - to survive until the end of Friday.
ReplyDeleteYour destiny is for told and laid out before you, even if you don't know it, you can't change it for better or for worse. Routine is a must this how we survive as human beings, if you don't have it you can lose your way.

A simple reset, reboot- or esp. a tragedy, to shake us from our complacency is indeed an intrusion--but a welcomed and necessary House-guest! May we all GROW together!
I missed you, Cloudia. Love the pictures today!
ReplyDeleteI love your 2011 resolutions.
ReplyDeleteThanks for another inspiting post.
ALOHA!!!!!!!!
Very interesting moss on that tree. some kind of Spanish moss? It looks red but maybe that's the light?
ReplyDeleteI think this is another sisterly thing we share .. hard not to analyze .. so I too make the pledge to enjoy it w/o picking it apart .. LOL .. aloha

ReplyDeleteGoing to make a difference this year! Your cat is beautiful!

The absence from and return to routine can both be helpful at times.. necessary. Routines can so easily become ruts.
ReplyDeleteglad to see you.
ReplyDeleteLove the cat, and you!!!
ReplyDeleteJolly JOLLY-
ReplyDeleteOh the light through the aerial roots of the banyan. . .
Thank YOU, each of YOU!
