America?!

A L O H A !

" Until the great mass of the people
shall be filled with the sense of responsibility
for each others' welfare,
social justice can never be attained.  "

Helen Keller

"The government,
which was designed for the people,
has got into the hands of the bosses
and their employers, the special interests.
An invisible empire has been set up
 above the forms of democracy."

Woodrow Wilson

" Nothing is so infectious
as example."

Francois De La Rochfoucauld

The people in the bubble
at the pinnacle
believe that they are levitating
disconnected from Earth
and from the rest of
us.

The country we all built
together
shudders
as they chop away
at branch,
trunk and root.

Have You, fellow American,
called your "representatives'
to HOWL?!

  1. IF we have to have most people be well meaning on the subject, it'll probably never happen. Sad to say.

  6. I have developed increased empathy for America since I moved to the Kingdom of Norway...I was just confessing to a friend earlier today about my culture shock and the way I sometimes feel...just like the US must have felt at times attempting to convince the United Nations to adopt a certain measure accordint to both its best interest and the nest interest of the "case" to be solved at hand !

I will also confess to you that, although I tend more center-right in my personal political beliefs, like more "Log Cabin Republican but without the 2008 McCain-Palin ticket", I have a certain weakness for former president Woodrow Wilson, the actual founder of UN's precursor, the League of Nations. I actually think I trust the principles of US Foreign Policy BECAUSE of Mr. Woodrow Wilson...which shows that, although I am at times TOTALLY exasperated by these United Nations, (especially about their damn legalese and all !), I still recognize they have a balancing role in order to moderate my rightful exasperation about some of these unruly immature and at times even pathological clients/countries/dictators, not to mention these other guys...the creditors...that seem to drain the dickens out of me some times !

Now that I have managed to empathetically identify myself with America itself...what shall I do with this warm friendly feeling ? Just hope you won't all say I'm totally nuts ! It is not my fault, especially not today. Today it is the fault of a certain French guy named Martin !

Skol ! I am not a drunkard, but sometimes I do indulge ! And when that happens...I ramble and ramble...I promise I won't do it very often...yet this blog is such a true oasis of calm !

    Mahalo !

Yeah, but my congressman is Joe "You Lie" Wilson and he lives in his own special and very protected world. God himself could look down from heaven pointing at Wilson and tell him to vote one way and Wilson would ignore him.

  15. If the Bonehead would get over himself and let it be. Our President is a fine leader. I wish his opposition would stop sticking its foot out in front of him.

  16. Oh yeah - I made the calls yesterday, getting only recorded messages saying they appreciate my call. I left messages anyway - I sure hope they are listening.
