Envied by Princes

A L O H A!

 but walking
that will bring us
 to heaven. "

  Matthew Henry

my left leg and my right. "

What a gift it is
to walk unmolested.

To be anonymous
among others
in the busyness
of life.

To pass
 through the streets,
the meadows
that know one
well.

Before he ran for president
Barack Obama
walked alone in Waikiki,
my mother noticed him
but no one else did
yet.

We lament our powerlessness
but in this
we have
what is denied
to kings:
a simple walk down the street
free of notice
free of strings.

       Enjoy it!  cloudia

  20. I share your joy of anonymity. I ruminated on this quite often. Imagine a life where one has no privacy. Every thing you wear, say and do, including a need for a private stroll, is recorded and poached by the world. I can't imagine being the Royals (Kate & Will).

  22. So many are putting your President Obama down. I knew he faced a long walk alone. The spam sent around, accusing him of all sorts of things, is terrible. Canadians adore him.

  28. "To find new things,
take the path you took yesterday."

this is so true, every time we pass through, we see something new, something more. There's always more to uncover.

And anonimity - sometimes it's a beautiful think.
