Jacaranda Season

Jacaranda Season in Waikiki


A native of Brazil,
the jacaranda is a leguminous tree,
 with wood called 'violet wood'
 'king wood'
or 'tiger wood.'

   Jacaranda 
is it's own genus
 (of the catalpa family).

Introduced to Hawaii
around 1900
