What we focus on

Today, many of us
are focused on anger,
even rage;
and that attitude
grows
in our minds,
hearts, lives.
We are quick to notice
things that might anger us;
we are ready
to argue
with those who
disagree.
There is a better way

What are YOU
trying to grow?
Why waste time
kicking someone's
sand castle?
Instead
notice that
which makes life
better
in your own
opinion.
Think on such things
and they will grow
in your heart,
mind, and in your
life.
Dare to BE
your version,
your vision,
of how life
can be.
Leave detection,
correction,
and punishment
for others;
That's not your
job.

ReplyDeleteAwareness that no culture is better than another or has anything that can not be bartered for, which decimates the need for war, promoting thought that there is more than earth, wind fire, and water, there is life not human of physical but life just the same. We are spirit as well as flesh and that is,was and will continue to be our focus. Yet i have been at my work for close to half a century and people focus like Ravens on the pretty shiny car and not the unseen well of love and power to live as a brother to all.

ReplyDeleteMy attention too! There was a female DJ that always opened here show with giving us something to think about like a feather or a raindrop anything, and it was amazing how throughout that day feathers or whatever were everywhere! My word for today is smiles! :)

ReplyDeletePart of what we writers try to do is that brand salience thing. wow it is hard without an advertising budget. I've noticed this kind of attention thing with words. hear a new word and suddenly you seem to hear it everywhere, even if it was really unusual.

Amen, Cloudia. I'm always amused at how many news stories have quotes from people that are OUTRAGED. That word has been so overused that it has lost all meaning for me - people become outraged at the most trivial things... They're the type of people that would be outraged at your positive post.
