How To Cope

A   L   O   H   A  !
 " The mind
is not a vessel
to be filled,
but a fire
to be
kindled. "

Plutarch

" What we achieve
inwardly
 will change
outer reality. "

Plutarch

" My fake plants died
 because I did not
 pretend
to water them. "

Mitch Hedberg

 Our coping mechanisms
are creatures of the situations
that made them neccessary.

In a strange way
they keep us in
the way of thinking
that needed them.

Coping
is comfort
with what needs
to be changed.

If you can't
change the situation
change your
thinking.

Don't cope.
Change, transcend,
out-grow.

  1. There are so many different ways we learn to cope...that kindled fire is mine. Man it is good when those flames reach heaven and the anger is hot. I guess that makes me a mad man? hahahahahaha

  3. I can exist, or I can have a life. I choose life - which mostly does not leave room for just 'coping'. I loved the death of the artificial flowers - it should happen more often.

  10. I love the second quote!
It isn't always easy to change your thinking! sometimes It is easier to let thoughts go entirely- maybe if you are lucky someone along the way may give us a new perspective! Be well and happy-

Interesting that this idea expressed so long ago is now called new thought or new age.
