  4. Some hospitals in the UK (and probably elsewhere of course) allow dogs in to help patients. Just stroking a pet can work wonders for stress, anxiety and suchlike. My son-in-law loves Marley, the family pet and guardian. Marley the gentle giant just LOVES to be petted and played with. I've just blogged a short video of him. Lovely animal.

  5. Absolutely agree Cloudia - except my terrier is so addicted to ham that every time I open the fridge door she tries to get inside!

  7. Reading up on animal totems brought that message home to me a while back. Each and every one of them has something from which we can learn, if we wish.

  13. Absolutely- "What day is it?" asked Pooh. "It's today," squeaked Piglet. "My favorite day," said Pooh.

  14. I agree with you 100% and am living proof of the impact they can have. Phoebe (one of our rescue pups) is a therapy dog and spent 3 years in a reading program at an elementary school, where children were finally looking forward to reading. All of the animals here at our farm bring great joy and peace. Wish you could meet them Cloudia.

  19. Well said. Animals and birds are awesome stress busters. When I'm flustered, I just opt to go out on a walk to look at the free flying birds and I get back to normal!!! :)
