Oatmeal
is synonymous
with 'bland'
But Not
O A T M E A L
of the
g O D S.
I eat this
most every morning
and will not here describe
the health benefits
of these ingredients,
but I will say
we prefer organic
for several reasons.
OOTg Recipe`
OOTg varies
depending on what
nuts & seeds I have;
BUT certain things
make it OOTg:
Curry Powder
lots of it, at least a Tsp.
Fresh Ground Pepper
to taste,
Cinnamon - lots,
Raisins - lots,
Raw Pumpkin Seeds-
generous dash,
Flax seed - tablespoon or lots more,
Psyllium - dash (shhh)
To these ingredients
I add a few (of each)
Almonds,
Walnuts,
Pecans,
Cashews
(or others
whatever available)
Raw.
I add all the above
to 1 serving of
Whole Grain Oatmeal
of my choice;
[ I like
then prepare the 'slurry'
per oat meal instructions:
generally 1/2 cup
oatmeal
(minus other ingredients)
to 1 cup water,
add dry oatmeal
and water to
other ingredients
in a saucepan;
bring to simmer,
of Sriracha, and/or
grated garlic
to the
cooking OOTg
while it simmers.
Simmer,
occasionally stirring,
to your desired consistency
(I enjoy it pretty solid)
cover, remove from heat,
let stand 1 minute.
Plop into a bowl
occupied by a peeled
banana.
Optional:
Dust with Chocolate Chips,
or Nutritious Yeast,
or Currants,
or What Have You.
YUMMY!
NOT Boring!
Healthy!
Wow, it's difficult
to write a simple
unambiguous recipe!
Hope you try OOTg
and enjoy it.
Bon Appetite
Thanks for visiting!
Warmly, cloudia
The lady looked like she had more dogs she can handle!

I wouldn't have thought to put curry powder in oatmeal. Hmmm. You grabbed me with that title!
ReplyDeleteNot sure I could handle curry powder AND cinnamon in the same bowl of oatmeal... Loved the quotes today.
ReplyDeleteBon apetit!

Aloha!
We have porridge every morning but not that complicated, Cloudia. Just porridge oats and warm milk, cooked in the microwave for five minutes. But we love it.
ReplyDeleteThe pepper and curry with oatmeal aren't computing in my brain, but I might be brave some day.

I'm such a bland soul. I like plain oatmeal made with milk not water, and a little sugar. It's not as healthy as yours. I def would not like garlic, pepper or curry in the morning. I wouldn't mind the seeds and nuts in it or the banana. Guess I'm not invited for breakfast , huh? Happy Weekend.
ReplyDeletethat's a pack o' pups!
ReplyDeleteOh thanks for this strangely exciting seminar on breakfast, Lol! Curry protects da brain, pepper unlocks its potential. Cinnamon fights high blood pressure...
ReplyDeleteThanks each of You dears!:-)
Almost anything can be luxurious under the right circumstances.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll just keep eating my steel cut oats plain. Dorothy Parker was born in my city. Very interesting woman. ~Mary
ReplyDeleteWalking so many dogs at the same time must be a challenge and great photo opportunity for you.

Oh yummy Cloudia, please dish me some of that oatmeal from the Gods! I just know that one is totally rich eating their oatmeal, and having that many hearts loving you back- a great photo of human and pups!!!
ReplyDeleteTastes like honest content.
ReplyDeletePlease have a good Sunday.
Wow! Curry powder? Now that is unusual. You put a lot of healthy things in your oatmeal. We put prunes, cranberries, cinnamon and any other dried fruits around. After it's cooked, Art puts in ground flaxseed and bran for himself and bananas for both of us.
ReplyDeleteMe thinks I should use pepper first to open da brain and let some knowledge in, then end with the curry to protect the brains and KEEP the knowledge stuck in the memory vault. It might bust out when I sneeze. DrumMajor
ReplyDeleteLOVING this!
ReplyDeleteYou are the delicious nuts
in my oatmeal of life ha ha
For some reason this is exactly how I would imagine you preparing your morning oatmeal Cloudia, it's tres original and certainly not boring, bon apetit!
ReplyDeleteLOL thanks
