This Toad Could Save Your Life

A L O H A !

" We may
be up against a stone wall,
but we don't have to
bloody our heads
against it
unless we
choose
to. "

 William Glasser

" I once had a rose
 named after me
and I was very flattered.
But I was not pleased
to read the description
 in the catalogue:
no good in a bed,
 but fine
up against a wall. "

Eleanor Roosevelt

" If you look closely at a tree
you'll notice it's knots
and dead branches,
just like our bodies.
What we learn
 is that beauty
 and imperfection
go together
wonderfully. "

Matthew Fox

" It is double pleasure
to deceive the deceiver. "

Niccolo Machiavelli

" Adversity can have its benefits—
like the ugly, poisonous
 toad
 that wears a precious jewel
in its forehead.
In his life,
 far away from the
 civilized world,
we can hear the language
of the trees,
 read the books
 of the running streams,
hear sermons in the stones,
and discover
the good
in every
single
thing. "

William Shakespeare
As You Like it
act 2 scene 1

(-'.'-)

And what gem
does this toad,
this post
bring you?

Just this too-simple
yet overlooked
advice:

If YOU
USE Re-Usable Bags
for your groceries
REMEMBER
to launder &
even disinfect them!

Seriously
we are all used
to disposable
and never think
of the bacteria
that lives on
fresh produce,
soil,
fish, meat.

Well,
You now have
the idea;
An idea
that can indeed
save a life!

There are statistics
of the number of folks
who die from
this unseen
threat,
and all for the
best of intentions!

Glad to pass that
along to YOU.

  9. I love the Eleanor Roosevelt one Cloudia.
We never get disposable bags from the supermarket. We have boxes in the back of the car and we take the trolley to the car and unload the goods straight into the boxes.

  10. Love the toad! Long Beach, CA requires everyone to use reusable bags or buy paper.

  11. i don't use those reusable bags - have heard lots about the bacteria that gets transferred from meats and fruits, etc. i DO recycle my plastic bags - thankfully our local grocer has a collection bin for them.

and i think toads are adorable!

  13. If it weren't for your latter shots, I wouldn't have seen that toad either! A good reminder also of the great dangers bacteria still poses!

  14. Toadly cool toad. He looks like a good Kansas yard toad, that can fit into young boys baggy overalls. (They pee if you squeeze them too hard.) Surely he's not poisonous.
I LIKE plastic bags for food, instead of breeding yunky stuff in a cloth bag. The dirtiest place in your kitchen is the one inch blade on your can opener. The dirtiest place in a hospital are all of the hard covers on patients' old paper charts.
I LOVE Hawaii's fresh air and scampering geckos. DrumMajor
