How To Beat The Devil

“Each person you meet
is an aspect of yourself,
clamoring for love.”
                                    Eric Micha'el Leventhal

"True patriotism
hates injustice
in its own land
more
than anywhere else."
                                            Clarence Darrow

“The emotion
 that can
break your heart
 is sometimes
 the very one
that heals it...”

The adversarial force
challenging our
Better Nature
operates
in mysterious ways.

Most evil in this world
is done by those
who believe they are
Doing Right.

One way that evil
tricks us
is by using our
Better Instincts
to it's own bad ends.

One example
is becoming SO
"sympathetic" to the
pain of others,
that we become
Righteously Angry
 on their behalf.

This creates:
More Anger,
More Judgement,
Less Insight.

Look at your own
facial expression.

Listen honestly
to your own words.

What energy
are YOU putting
into the world?

Righteous Anger
is an oxymoron
like jumbo shrimp.

Don't be a big
moron shrimp!

                   Fondly, cloudia

  1. As always, needed that. Your post made me think of so many things going on inside my head as well as inside our country. The question, "What kind of energy are you putting into the world?" makes me stop and look at myself.

  2. So right. Right or Wrong often depends where you are standing at the time.

  8. Making me think in a whole different way about shrimp ! Somehow shrimp is now making me think about Forrest Gump and I loved that character and his sweet energy .

  9. Ha. I know I've been a moron shrimp sometimes. But your quotes go right to the core of the matter with wisdom. I especially like the first quote. The pictures, as always are wonderful and soothing. Thank you Cloudia.

  10. You need to make and sell a Comfort Spiral bumper sticker: "Don't be a big moron shrimp!"

  14. Your first shot looks like it could be a posed art installation. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
