I remember
Snow Days.
Blessings
from above.
Respite
from school.
Days we all
Love!
Adventure
from the sky,
piled so high,
scattering bright light
to twinkle the eye.
Playing, sliding,
even a fall -
when we're young
are a nothing at all.
Snow
was an adventure,
now seems like
indenture.
But SO darn pretty;
At least before
it grows
gritty.
I'm well content
with snow pictures
You show!
They bring a nice glow
of winters long ago
that helped me to grow.
[I'm one of those
who CAN DRIVE
in the snow!]
Today, we have VOG.
Blew up from Big Isle,
makes me feel like a log.
Gone: smarts and style!
Ancient stuff.
buried for millennia,
today
are filling me
with some sort
of phlegm-ia!
I'll say it again:
VOG makes me
DUMB;
One's sinuses feel
like a big bass drum!
But don't worry for me
it ain't nothing
but FUN!
Temps in the 70's
and nothing but
SUN!
Soon the Trade Winds
will return,
perfection unearned.
But I'll take it!
Hope you can
make it-
Till then,
Enjoy YOUR
local adventures
wherever You may be!
Fondly, from cloudia

That's ME!)

Love your poem, your photos and your quotes. Sounds like you have a stinky cold? Sympathies! Feel better soon my friend.
ReplyDeleteI very much like the Lupita Nyong`o quote! I have no snow photos from this year yet but when I do I'll be sure to post some. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the VW van with surfboards all ready to go. Your poem is a nice bit of whimsy! Enjoy your warm life in the VOG.
ReplyDeletetoo cute! :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots.
ReplyDeleteThanks ♥☁
ReplyDeleteYour weather temps are the same as ours, just one more thing in common :) Big surf comps over your way at the moment Cloudia, wonder how the Aussies will do!
ReplyDeletep.s. No my mum and dad aren't kangaroos :) the memorial park is where they have a plaque, they've both passed away, five years this week for mum.. but it's a nice place to sit and remember them.
Our life is pretty hectic right now. We're struggling with the failing health of our dear cousin. It's hard to see and bear. We saw the heavy VOG yesterday. Yuck!
ReplyDelete70 and SUN, I'll take it, Vog and all. I like learning about stuff I never heard of before. Now if one could exchange volcanic dust for fairy dust- imagine the excitement! Aloha dear friend- wish I had a bit of your sunshine here- it's just darn right gloomy outside.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful poem and photoes Cloudia♥
ReplyDeleteHope the Vog blows off. Quickly.
ReplyDeleteMy parents had a VW van like that. Not quite that colour, mind you...
ReplyDelete"phlegm-ia" lol. I hope the vog dissipates soon and that you're soon feeling over the moon! ;)
ReplyDeleteWe are to get a bit of snow tonight and it will pretty for a while in the morning! I'd rather be surfing than shoveling!
ReplyDeleteHello Cloudia, I hope the VOG is gone now. Sounds awful! I wish I could send you some snow, that is when we have some here..Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeletesnow days from school were the best
ReplyDeleteI look at each of your faces/icons, read your comments, and just feel such connection and love. SO lucky! Thanks so much
ReplyDeleteah i am rather hoping for some snow days soon...instead of just the bitter wind...at least then i can sled and enjoy it...smiles
