" Life loves
to be taken by
 the lapel and told,
 'I'm with you kid.
 Let's go.' "
Maya Angelou
Any piece of writing,
from a letter to a book
can fly or
it can fail.
It might be a Palace
of  Thought, Wonder,
Delight.
Or it may be
just a pile of words,
taking the same hours
of assembly
but never taking off.
Think of a violin.
(Did you HEAR
a violin when you
thought of it?)
A woman good with
tools, could cut,
shape, polish,
all of the parts
that go into a violin.
But an instrument maker
turns those same parts
into an instrument,
not just a novelty.
It takes more
than piling up words
to make sense,
to persuade, to heal.
Too many books
are false fronts like a
 pioneer town.
I trust few words.
Among them:
"Thank You, dear Friends"
I like to mean
what I say.
           Fondly, Cloudia
