Wouldn't you rather be surfing,
or watching surfers?
I caught this back-lit family
Saturday on
as they walked up the trail
from the shoreline below.

January is cold.
The new year is
just finding it's legs
like a newborn
giraffe.
And then there are
the bills. . .
Some people remain
celebration-unsteady
too. Watch for them.
But today is the day:
The first normal
"Work Day"
"School Day"
after a protracted
Holiday Season.
Here is my tip
to YOU:
Just show up.
Just find your class.
Everyone there
is more disoriented
than you.
Look awake.
Make it through
the day.
It will all be easier
tomorrow.
And to those like
myself:
"They've gone now.
We can clean up,
drink a second cup,
take the camera
for a walk."

what you do
'Normal Time'
is the Best Time
of ALL!
I wish YOU
Love &
Pleasant Musing-

Definitely watch instead of do as far as surfing goes mon amie.. I for one am happy to have things back to normal (?) after the festivities :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes I am a klutz. I think I would be safer watching rather than surfing.. What a great post and lovely photos. I am glad I am one of those than can now go out for a walk with my camera rather than go to work. Enjoy and have a happy Monday.
ReplyDeleteHooray for surfing!
ReplyDeleteYou gave us a good perspective on how to return to normal life after the holidays. It's not so bad! I love seeing surfers, though I'm just a beach bunny. And only for short times. (I'm fair skinned.) There's something compelling about seas. Even in little things like seeing gulls and flying fish.
ReplyDelete"Turn life into play." I Like that.
ReplyDelete'just show up' - good advice. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat advice, Cloudi!! Fortunately, I don't have to show up for class until 11... Love the surfer mural! Keep on shooting!
ReplyDeleteI love my "normal" time. That's when I surf - not in water but in time and space, in solitude and silence. I must have been a hermit in some other life.
ReplyDeleteOoh I feel the sun..... this year it's all about being mindfull...happy new year!!
ReplyDeleteI would rather be surfing.
ReplyDeleteAs a matter of fact I would rather be surfing, or mowing or anything that wasn't -15 degrees!
ReplyDeletesuch gorgeous photos
ReplyDeleteand though you mention January being cold
it looks like summer compared to my snowy realm with nearly a new foot of snow since i tucked myself in last night. wahoo.
Same to you, Cloudia. All the best for 2015!
ReplyDeleteShowing up is much of the battle.
ReplyDeleteWonderful silhouette shot, Cloudia.
Thanks, my dear Dear Friends <3
ReplyDeleteLove that first surfing shot! It's back to normal time at the end of this week.
ReplyDeleteI've always been fascinated by surfing! I think I'll remain a watcher though. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove to watch. Am too unco to try. Our silly season doesn't end until the end of the month, though the worst has dissapated. School isn't back till the end of the month either.

ReplyDeleteThe painting is so inviting with its expressionistic colors. I always like returning the house to normal after the holidays. It's like seeing the familiar with new eyes. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural. Happy New Year, Cloudia.
ReplyDeleteThank You kindly <3
ReplyDeleteI can fall out of my shoes let alone off a surfboard :). Your photos are always neat but today I loved that first shot and the painting of the surfer is colorful, outstanding. Thank you for your congratulations on winning Theresa's painting. I am excited!
ReplyDeleteI prefer to watch and click :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pics.
My son would love to be in Waikiki surfing instead of cold in D.C.
ReplyDeleteI love the warm water in Hawaii. I got to go twice last year. Such fun, and I did enjoy watching the surfers and kite boarders. - Margy
