A weather front
came through our islands
from the West
bringing rain and wind
from an unaccustomed direction.
When the winds grow strong
our electricity can be spotty.
Our trees, plants and roofs
are braced for
North East Trade Winds.
So a few trees, roofs
& plants
& plants
blew away
taking wires down.
But NOT a Hurricane!
But NOT a Hurricane!
Meanwhile,
it's 71F [22C]
Maybe it's the years
I spent living aboard
our boat,
or our open-air coffee shack
back on the Big Island,
but big rain & wind
make me anxious.
[How many times
have I run from
tsunami threats,
or hurricane?]
Glad my snow days
are behind me!
So how are YOU doing?
Are You susceptible
to weather?
Keep warm in your heart.
Here is all the sun I can send.

Good Morning, Cloudia.. beautiful images and quotes. The weather seems to be crazy lately.. This morning we have temps in the minus figures..So a picnic indoors sounds lovely, lol. Have a happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a beautiful day for Hawaii! Right now we are braced for a blast of really cold weather this week, plus we had some power outages. Brrr...
ReplyDeleteIt was MINUS ten degrees when I woke up, and not supposed to rise above single digits all day!
ReplyDeleteThat dish looks yummy.
hoping power can be restored to those who lost it, soon. but what a nice temperature to go with it!
ReplyDeleteI love the last picture looking up through the palm fronds. It was in the high 80s or low 90s yesterday and the day before. Today is in the 70s, so quite pleasant. When the weather was so hot we had a dry desert wind, which is unpleasant, but not scary.
ReplyDeleteI rather like gray and rainy days. I always did as a child because it meant I could stay in reading rather than having to work outside on the farm.
ReplyDeleteThe weather can be scary, Cloudia! It is -24˚C here at 11:30 am which is crazy cold. Hope your power comes back on soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dears! <3
ReplyDeleteAloha Cloudia, I know you're surely in sunshine today, (thank goodness you're not in harms way) your post this morn has warmed my deep freeze (I wish snow was behind me) I'm ready for any season that doesn't include winter! For me I'm living a double life- smack in middle of winter/dreaming of summertime. :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think when the power goes out, that means, break time! and head out for a walk.... or candle light..... !
ReplyDeleteWeather front came through the D.C. area, too. 9 degrees out wind gusting to 45 mph, snow on the ground, etc.!
ReplyDeleteLove that comfort food.

The pics are excellent, cheers Cloudia.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sunshine, darling! And that dish looks so yummy :)
ReplyDeletexoxox,

The pictures are a delight!
ReplyDeleteI think it must be easily as windy here today in NH… we survived yet another big snowfall, temps are dropping… so far we still have power. Glad you survived your stormy weather too!
ReplyDeleteI really like that Alice Walker quote!
ReplyDeleteWe got to a high of -19C here today, with windchills making it feel in the low minus thirties.
I love each one of these images.
ReplyDeleteThe top one is my favourite:)
