“For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.”
Wordsworth

as down an abyss
without a bottom.
I have been pouring
van loads of information
into that vacancy
of oblivion
I call my mind."

If you put
your ear to mine
you'll hear the ocean;
I'm hollow
but fine.
Ever feel vacant
in a not-bad way?
Is this
what they call
"Re - lax - ation"
?

Aloha, Cloudia! Great photos and quotes. I would want to believe it is what they call relaxation! Have a happy Friday and weekend ahead..
ReplyDeleteI don't call it relaxation but rather peace and quiet.
ReplyDeleteI think of it as a time off from worries. Great pictures and quotes; I enjoyed this mini-visit to Hawaii!
ReplyDelete6 degrees outside.

ReplyDeletePerfect word, Vacant, for a feeling I don't often experience. Ah, think I will go for it :).
ReplyDeleteGo for it! Thanks
ReplyDeletePretty pictures.
ReplyDeletePossibly, but a blissful feeling for sure! Juicy quotes today such vision in van loads of anything! What is she stirring?
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow's a welcome sight!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are just a bit different.
ReplyDeleteMerle..........
Lovely post.
ReplyDeleteI love the last aforism a lot, it makes me smile.
Have a happy weekend.
Our daffodils (whose green shoots were just starting to come up) are now buried under about a foot of snow. Oh well. Perhaps they will survive...
ReplyDeleteOh, there is such truth in this (these quotes, the general sentiment). Your photos as always wonderful, especially the rainbow (but I am a foolish optimist and believe in rainbows as omens). Vacant only happens at the end of a really good yoga class....
ReplyDeletegood quotes
ReplyDeleteThe pictures today are wonderful. You outdid yourself with the quotes. Maybe you're hollow because you're like a hose. You receive it and then share it, so that you can receive some more. I am glad you always share and receive and receive and share.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures and I love the last one with the rainbow colours. I would say shifting focus from self to enjoy and appreciate the things around us.
ReplyDeleteDeep relaxation, meditation at its best. Miss you. Hope to reconnect.
