Banana is a giant grass, not a real tree. They ripen and a new one grows from the root after you knock down the fulfilled "tree". There always seem to be a few generations around so yes, you can just pick a ripe one! But mostly the whole cluster of fruit is taken at once with one swipe of the machete. Gee, you think I'm missing Hawaii right about now? LOL. But I'm looking out at beauty and loving life, so we'll just call it Nostalgia! Thanks for commenting each of YOU!
