Leave some cracks and
gentle, open spaces
in your day, so as
to allow life's magical
mystery to enter. -

paths of Spirit.
Turkey Vulture, N. Calif |
One day Buddha and his friends
were walking through a village
When an angry person
came up to him
yelling and shouting insults.
But Buddha was unruffled
by these insults.
He remained calm,
exuding a feeling
of loving-kindness.
Later, his friends were still
agitated by what happened
and asked Buddha about it.
He answered:
If you give a
gift to someone,
but they did not
accept the gift,
to whom does
the gift belong?"
"The gift would still belong to
the one who brought it."
"Yes replied the Buddha.
"When we do not get
insulted and angry
in return,
curses remain
with the giver
just like that
gift unaccepted"
