My Two Drakes

A  L  O  H  A !
“I almost wish we were butterflies
and liv'd but three summer days -
three such days with you
I could fill with more delight
than fifty common years
could ever contain.”
               John Keats

 " Vexed sailors
cursed the rain, for
which poor shepherds
prayed in vain.
        Edmund Waller

“When the Sun of compassion
arises darkness evaporates
and the singing birds
come from nowhere.”
            Amit Ray

Nature makes her
own arrangements.
These three are
ever seen together,
grooming, drinking,
sleeping [often
on my lawn]
in the shady
afternoon sun.
Isn't that wonderful!

  6. Since John Keats lived in the 17th century, he can take credit for the updated version of his quote. One man's trash is another man's treasure.
