No one wears a sign.
We interpret the
behavior of others.
We are pattern matchers.
Finding what we expect
interpreting behavior
so that it fits our view
of ourselves, of others
of the World.
But what if we made
the choice to see
the Truth and not
our favored version?
What if we made
allowances for others
just as we do for
ourselves every day?
They are human too.
Why do we leap
to the harshest
conclusions?
What if?
What if we felt
fellow feeling first?
What if we felt
compassion for the stressed,
not judgement and
a cheap superiority?
What if we
were strong enough
and loving enough to
forgive and assume allowances
for others as we
do without pause for
ourselves every day?
You do not choose
your neighbor.
But you can choose
your world.
This is the better way.
For yourself,
for all of us.

Thank YOU
Friend!
Warmly, cloudia
I think I am probably harder on myself than I am on others, but more compassion never goes astray. Thank you for yet another thought provoking post.
ReplyDeleteI always remind myself to try to be gracious to others because we do not know what they are going through.
ReplyDeleteA lot of photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet cat!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! You sound like one of the Buddhist nuns whose group I'm researching... Always think the best of others, and you will be happier and healthier, and the world will be a better place.

If we all lived by the very thoughts you've shared, what a wonderful world it would be!
ReplyDeleteThanks my Friends for sharing of yourselves! <3
ReplyDeleteHello, lovely thoughts and post. I had to smile at the lady with her dog in the stroller. Cute pups! We should treat others how we want to be treated, with kindness. Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteThat is sobering advice! Great post!
ReplyDeleteWe have to adopt some framework for understanding others. It is our choice to adopt one that grants latitude and forgiveness of others. That is truly blessed; and also the way to go.
ReplyDeleteAnd always be kind both to others and ourselves.
