Places We Walked, Places We Were

A  L  O  H  A
The Portals I walked through -

"As you sing, the
portals of heaven
are opening."
            Sherry K. White

Walking Distance; Places Near Home -

“Hegel used to say that
the familiar, precisely
because it is familiar,
remains unknown.”
      Carl William Brown

“At the end of the day,
it isn’t where I came from.
Maybe home is somewhere
I’m going and never
have been before.”
              Warsan Shire

. . . Distant Memories
as I sit here today.

Is it Places I Miss,
or the Younger Person
I Was Walking There?

What place remains
vivid in your mind's eye
though you have not
walked there for
a long time?

  1. There are so many places that have a hold on my heart. Following my father along the river bank while he fished, Antarctica (of course), my mother's garden...

  3. A thoughtful post - makes me long for my former home in Alabama. [Some people might laugh at that.]
