When Aretha sang, our souls answered.
The 60's were tough times as well
as amazing times in America.
Lots was striving for expression.
There was violent push-back too,
War at home and abroad.
Life was not safe for many people.
But when Aretha sang, we felt safe;
We felt like the Good was
always on the move.
The Good was winning.
Thank You Aretha Franklin.
We are CELEBRATING
Your Life, Your Faith
Your Influence on America,
the World, on all of us.
Thank you for delivering us
from fear to Love & Faith.
Faith in what is Right,
Faith in the future.
Faith in the future.
Thank You Gift of God
RIP.

ReplyDeleteRIP.
ReplyDeleteQuite a lady.
ReplyDeleteSo sad that she is no longer with us.
ReplyDeleteShe will be missed.
ReplyDeleteShe was remarkable!
ReplyDeleteAn amazing lady. I have always loved her voice, her music. One of a kind. I listened to what everyone had to say about her on the news last night. She left an incredible legacy.

ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible woman! Thankfully, her music will live on forever. She enriched all of our lives so much with her amazing talents.
ReplyDeleteShe will live on in all of hearts. I heard about her son that went to Michigan State University, that I had forgotten all about. I'm originally from Michigan, but I'll have to ask a few of my older cousins (who also) went to that college if they ever met him. What a small wonderful world we all share.
