Dare to love yourself
as if you were a rainbow
with gold at both ends.

Don't tell me the moon is shining;
show me the glint of light
on broken glass.
Anton Chekhov
Sgt. Kuroda was a local Hawaii Guy
whose contemporaries live in our community,
some wounded like Senator Inouye.
He was also a decorated battle hero.
Many of that generation did get to
grow old around me.
Soon they will all be gone.
The personal connection to these
WWII events will be snapped.
Sgt. Kuroda will live on in
his story of heroism.
The Waikiki field carrying his name.
will carry on.
Every Day Heroes Live Everywhere
Carve your name on hearts, not
tombstones. A legacy is etched into the
minds of others and the stories
they share about you.

Love You,
cloudia
LOVE that final quote.
ReplyDeleteSomething to aspire to, and thank you.
Nice quotes. Beautiful pics.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend.
I love the wee rainbow!
ReplyDeleteLove that line about carving your name on hearts, not tombstones. Great stuff today!
ReplyDelete"Don't tell me the moon is shining" reminded me of a vampire joke. A vampire is about to bite someone in the moonlit night and the victim says, "You know moonlight is just reflected sunlight." Oh-oh!
ReplyDeleteLove those quotes accompanying your photos. Enjoy your holiday season.
ReplyDeleteAn amazing final shot.
ReplyDeleteAn inspiring post, as always, Cloudia! Keep shining!
ReplyDeleteThat first photo with a magical little rainbow!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post, Cloudia. I've never seen a photo with a rainbow AND a moon!
